If you've never experienced Counselling before you should know that there are many different types, known as 'modalities'. For example, you may have heard of CBT, often prescribed via your GP.

At Tarns Counselling the modality is humanistic, person-centred.  It is often referred to as 'talking therapy'. This tends not to be as time-restricted and is essentially non-directive, following your experiences at your own speed, as you process and talk through the issues that brought you to counselling.

At times, other modality traits may be integrated with person-centred, for example the use of more direct questions often seen in systemic practice.  This combination helps you to move forward and reach a better understanding of yourself.
